Ummm... this is just a bad trade. Its is a factor since Grant has gotten a decent amount of 4th line time, and this guy looks like he would be the worst player on the ice if ever given time with the Penguins. |

I like the idea of Jeff Carter as well. LA seem to want to be getting younger and quicker, they could shed his contract term and salary but they'd have to retain dough though I would imagine and would they do that for 3 seasons?....unless of course other pieces were involved. Then they get Brass who's UFA. Either resign or have more cap space in offseason.
Small part of me wanting Carter is just so a highly regarded, high draft pick ex Flyer, is in a Pens uni haha. |

He played in 25 of the Pens 46 games and had 5 points. I dont really think of this trade as bad. Its just a whatever to me. A swapping of fringers (not a real word, I know). |

What are the chances that the Penguins send Matt Cullen the other way in a Brassard trade? I love the guy for his past contributions, but he's been ineffective this season. |

Sure hope the Brassard trade doesn’t turn out to be the entree. The Pens need something bigger/better to make a push for the cup. |

That would be great if the Pens got another C somehow. Then Sheahan would be 4C...or maybe even 3C.
I loved pretty much everything about acquiring Brassard when it happened but the only thing I didnt like was that it bumped Sheahan down to 4C when he had strung together a nice sample size of playing extremely well as 3C.
Then after a while of the bottom 6 being out of sync and not playing well, Sheahan went back to 3C and Brassard was 4C for some games. |

4th liner for a mediocre AHLer. |

Pens fans are really good at getting upset when plugs get traded. |

Not upset, just calling a bad trade a bad trade. Especially when I believe Anaheim has to be open to sell off bigger players with this 12 game losing streak. |

Maybe someone said it already, but I believe we just opened up an NHL roster spot. But I agree, I liked Grant and was hoping he would stick |

The issue with trading Carter is well documented on Canadian networks. The idea is that he’s going to say he’ll retire if he has to leave LA. Maybe he changes his mind? Who knows but if he doesn’t I don’t want to give up a ton of assets for a rental especially if it means having one of my favorite players enter retirement early. How great would it be if the Kings and Pens managed a handshake deal where Pitt got Carter just for the end of this season for a 2nd and a 3rd and at the draft Pitt tradedhim back to LA to get their 3rd back. I’m sure the NHL would have a problem with that but it would work out for everyone |

The biggest problem right from the get go was that we were already struggling on D and then we traded away Cole who at the time was performing at a pretty high level relative to his teammates. He was great after he came back from that puck to the face |

If this is to open up a spot... then this trade's value is 100% contingent on what the next trade is. |

Is Rihno ok? I know Grant was your pet plug haha.
Anyways, if it’s CBJ and we somehow get Boone out of it I’ll throw a party. I don’t how this could possibly be done though. |

Jenner would be nice but seems a little far fetched. I like Wennberg as well but not at $4.9M. If CBJ retains some salary then I like him as a possible 3C. |

It would be awesome, no doubt.
I wouldnt want to give up a ton of assets in this situation either but at the end of the day, the assets they have are picks for the most part, I dont really care about any picks the next few years. |

What is the likelihood of CBJ trading Panarin for Brass? Panarin doesn't want to re sign and it looks like CBJ is Brass' first choice. They get a center and a cheaper contract to spend more on a winger at the deadline. |

Panarin would be great but it would cost a lot
What about Josh Anderson? Would he be a good return too? Wennberg and Jenner are my runner ups |

Unless it's a standout winger I'd prefer a center back. Nice to see all the Sheahan support but I'm not sold on him as 3C in the playoffs. |
